Learn how to quickly and easily create a simple Plain Text QR code using the RoQR app. Perfect for sharing short messages, serial numbers, or basic information without a link.
Quick and Easy Data Sharing
Creating a QR code that simply contains plain text is the most straightforward way to use the RoQR app. This is perfect for sharing short messages, simple identifiers, or anything that doesn't require a specific link or action like opening a website or connecting to Wi-Fi. It’s like a digital Post-it note, but scannable!
The Steps
Follow these simple steps to generate your plain text QR code:
Open the App and Select the Type
-
- Launch the RoQR app on your device.
- On the main generation screen, look for the list of available QR code types (URL, Wi-Fi, Text, Contact, etc.).
- Tap on the 'Plain Text' option.
Enter Your Text
-
- A text entry box will appear.
- Type or paste the desired text you want to encode.
- Pro Tip: While RoQR can handle long strings, keep the text concise! The longer the text, the more complex the resulting QR code becomes, which can sometimes make it harder for older or lower-resolution scanners to read.
Generate and Customize
-
- Once your text is entered, tap the 'Generate' button.
- The QR code will appear on the screen.
- Optional: Now you can customize the appearance! Use the customization tools to change the color, add a logo, or adjust the pattern of the code to match your branding.
Save and Share
-
- Tap the 'Save' or 'Export' icon (usually a downward arrow or a square with an arrow).
- Choose your preferred format (e.g., PNG, SVG).
- Congratulations! Your plain text QR code is now ready to be printed, shared digitally, or plastered on the side of a blimp. (We recommend starting with a business card.)
